Balance Enterprises (BE) is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients.

Our counselling and business services adhere to Privacy Act 1988, including the Privacy Amendment Act 2012 and the Privacy Regulation 2013. This sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.

Your information privacy is important to us. We provide this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information and data, including when you use the website on which this policy is posted (“Site”) and related services offered through the Site (“Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Site and Services.

  • Inferences drawn from the categories described above: in order to create a profile about you to reflect your preferences, characteristics, behaviour and attitude.

How Balance Enterprises utilises your Information

This information is gathered in order to document what happens during sessions, and enables the counsellor to provide a relevant and informed service.

Balance Enterprises may collect certain information for statistical and professional purposes. This information is not necessarily considered personal or sensitive information. Information is only considered to be personal information if the identity of the individual is apparent or can be reasonably ascertained from the information.

Your personal information may be used in order to compile statistics such as the number of clients BE see on a monthly basis, the number of clients,, the ages of clients counselled etc. This information may be used to administer, manage or develop our services.

Marketing and Promotional Purposes: We may use your contact information, commercial information, demographic information, internet or other electronic activity, geolocation data and inferences to:
– Inform you of our new products, services and offers;
– Provide you with targeted advertising;
– Run competitions and promotions;
– Provide you with our loyalty program including earning points and awarding and redeeming certificates; and
– Provide you with other information from and about us, including personalised marketing communications.

Whilst you are able to opt out of receiving marketing emails from us, you cannot opt out of receiving all emails from us, such as emails about the status of your account.

In addition, please remember that when you share information in any other communications with third parties, that information may be passed along or made public by others. Confidentiality

All personal information gathered during the provision of the service will remain confidential and secure except when:

You admit to planning to and/or have committed a crime.

If you are deemed to be a high risk to yourself or someone else.

It is subpoenaed by a court, (although it should be noted that it is the policy of Balance Enterprises to argue for client confidentiality wherever possible) or failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk, or your prior approval has been obtained to:

  1. Provide a written report to another professional or agency e.g. a GP or lawyer, or
  2. Discuss the material with another person e.g. a parent or employer.

Requests For Access To Client Information

At any stage you may request to see information which is kept on file about you. The counsellor may discuss the contents with you and/or give you a copy. However, copied content may be subject to exceptions required or allowed by law or professional practice guidelines. Requests for access will be responded to within twenty business days and an appointment will be made if necessary for clarification purposes.

Changes To Privacy Policy

Balance Enterprises reserves the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time.

In future it is possible that Balance Enterprises may utilise customer information from this web site in new, unanticipated ways not expressly described in this current privacy notice. If Balance Enterprises information practices change substantially, subscribed visitors will be notified and invited to participate or abstain from the updated practices, and the Privacy Policy on this page will be amended accordingly.
